E2B provides secure, isolated sandbox environments where AI agents can safely execute code - the missing infrastructure piece when you let a model run arbitrary programs. Sandboxes start in under 200ms in the same region with no cold starts, run Python, JavaScript, Ruby, C++, and other languages, expose terminals, browsers, and file systems, and can persist sessions up to 24 hours for long-running agent work. The core is open source, with Python and Node.js SDKs (`e2b-code-interpreter` and `@e2b/code-interpreter`) and integrations across OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Llama, LangChain, and LlamaIndex. If you are building agents that execute generated code, an isolation layer like this is not optional, and E2B is the most established dedicated option.
